Ernest Journal - Living Works

A feature delving into the living art of land artist and sculptor, David Nash.

‘“The more footfall there is, the less this place will be,” David Nash explains to me as we weave up through the woodland, following the subtle path that previous feet have trodden through the land. The location of the Ash Dome is kept secret; no signs announce its presence, just an old unassuming gate at the side of the road. “If we let people come here, it’s more likely to get damaged and then things can’t grow,” he admits as we trudge slowly up the hill.”
